With much rejoicing Sunshine Regional Board announce the commencement of a new Events committee.

When COVID arrived in 2020 and in-person events were greatly restricted, Sue Witten (Know Your Bible (KYB) Administrator, Sunshine Region North) felt led to initiate Online Know Your Bible (KYB) Introductions (using the Zoom platform). Very soon, the Sunshine Regional Board appointed a sub-committee to explore this format for reaching out to rural and remote women, working women, women in isolation, in fact any women experiencing restricted access to in-person events.

Over the past two years, Sue and the nucleus team have arranged meetings, using various speakers, presenters and hosts, at the beginning of each new KYB study. Sessions have been offered on different days and with different timeslots to accommodate the greatest number of participants.

Women throughout the Sunshine Region and beyond have warmly embraced the concept. In response to a personal request, two CWCI Prayer for the Nation events were also held online during May.

With assistance from Robyn Sansbury (National Management Board Development Director), the original sub-committee became the special interest SOLE – Sunshine On-Line Events – committee with Sue Witten as Chairman. SOLE’s biblical foundation is from Romans 10:15: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!

It is thrilling for the team to acknowledge that they launched this Committee in the year of KYB’s 50^th Anniversary. Your prayers for the continuing development and new opportunities for this exciting venture are much appreciated.
