Introducing the KYB study: Getting what you asked for: 1 Samuel

CWCI Australia has announced the release of the Know Your Bible (KYB) study for Term 3, 2025. The study: Getting what you asked for … [focused on] … 1 Samuel, is now available for KYB groups nationwide to commence in the upcoming weeks. This nine-unit study on the first book of Samuel from the Old Testament was originally written several years ago and has been meticulously revised by the KYB editorial team for current use.

To help those doing this study gain a greater understanding of it, Heather Jackson has provided an Introduction on the CWCI Australia website. Heather is a CWCI Speaker and KYB leader who has written some of our KYB studies in the past. Heather’s Introduction can be downloaded from the website for use by groups or individuals in audio and print version at KYB Introductions – CWCI Australia.

In her Introduction Heather outlines that the study will examine three main sections of the book. Chapters 1-7 detail Samuel’s birth, his divine call, priesthood corruption, loss of the ark, and battles with the Philistines. Chapters 8-15 recount Samuel’s stories, King Saul’s rise and fall. Chapters 16-31 cover the transition from Saul to David.

As the school term resumes in each state, KYB groups and CWCI Committees throughout Australia often arrange various in person and online Introductions to each KYB study. At these events speakers will ‘introduce’ the study in a comparable way to Heather. Women everywhere are welcome to attend any of these events. Being a member of a KYB group is not necessary. To find out if there is an in person or online KYB Introduction suitable for you to attend or join, click Events – CWCI Australia for dates, locations and contact details.
