Safari in Pilbara Mid–West

“We praise God that this Safari produced many spiritual blessings which will have a direct impact on the lives of the folk we met”

It was a cool Monday morning when we (Shirley Burton, Dianne Symons and Matt Barrett-Leonard) set out from Jandakot Airport on what we believed would be a time of knowing God’s blessing on us and all we would meet along the way.

There were 34 ladies to greet us at our first stop-over in Dongara. We enjoyed great fellowship, a delightful outdoor luncheon, and we praised God for the new KYB group that would now come into being. This set a wonderful pattern for each of the meetings that followed as Shirley delivered messages that were both encouraging and inspiring.

At Denham we had a special time of sharing our stories with the ladies of a Bible Study group, while at Jigalong Community and Roeburne there was delightful singing to accompany the gospel message. Although there was little time to relax during the first four days, we were delighted to be able to take a little time at Tom Price and Newman to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation which abounds in that part of the Pilbara. We were grateful, first to our God for his wonderful handiwork and to those who took time to show us around. We also look back with fondness to the extra special times we had with those who shared their homes with us. These are the unsought but greatly welcomed blessings of the Safari ministry.

We praise God that this Safari produced many blessings which will have a direct impact on the spiritual lives of the folk we met — there are now 3 new KYB groups, 2 new assistant KYB leaders, a KYB Area Coordinator and the possibility of having a sister in Christ who will work with us in our ministry. Unexpected but precious gifts from our heavenly Father.

We returned home littler tired, and feeling the cold again after the beautiful hot 10 days that we had been having. We praise God for the safety in travel and all He had done during our Pilbara Mid-West Safari.
