On Tuesday 25 May 2021 one of the ladies from my Know Your Bible (KYB) group went home to be with her Saviour and Lord. At that same time her sisters in Christ were studying and sharing at KYB and praying for her.
This wonderful woman at 98 and half was still faithfully coming to KYB. She felt that there was still so much to learn from studying God’s Word. I know that her Bibles, her KYB study, and a book she wrote her answers in, were found open on her dining table.
She had been involved in KYB from its beginning and had led groups over the years.
The women in my group will miss her – not only her Biblical knowledge and wisdom but her encouragement, humility and ability to get alongside younger people.
As I write I have just finished my questions for Study 6 in my KYB study of the book of Daniel – Kings and Kingdoms. How fitting to read Psalm 92:14-15…They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming the Lord is upright; he is my Rock.
These were the verses God used (in my daily Bible reading) to tell me that despite my age, He would give me the strength and all else that was needed to continue serving on the National Management Board even though I would be 75 when I finished. He was faithful to His Word – and still is, as I waken every day feeling ‘fresh and green.” KYB has, for the past 45 years, been part of the process of encouraging daily Bible reading and the understanding of His Word.
How blessed we are to have such saints among us!
Teaching, encouraging and challenging.
