Would you like to know more about KYB by Correspondence?
“Would you be able to let me know more about KYB by Correspondence, please?”
This is a question that I regularly receive from ladies who are seeking to study the Bible the “KYB way”, but have found that, for various reasons, they cannot attend a group. It has been interesting to look back over the last year to see just where these enquiries come from and the reasons the ladies are choosing to do their study by correspondence.
So, how did they find out about the correspondence option?
It seems most of our enquiries come from searches on the CWCI website, from the CWCI Bond magazine, from a CWCI conference, from KYB contacts and by word of mouth from relatives or friends. So many ladies have been blessed by the help they have been given by the word of others to start them on their path of KYB study.
What reasons do these ladies give for wanting to do KYB by Correspondence?
Here are some of the various of reasons I have received which shows the importance of enabling women who have a deep desire to study the Word, to be able to do just that:
- I have done KYB in the past with a group, but it has now closed, and I wish to continue my studies at home, online.
- There are KYB groups in my area, but because of my work commitments (e.g., I am a shift worker), or my family commitments (I have young children), I can’t get to the groups in the times they operate, and I don’t want to miss out on learning more about the God’s Word.
- I used to go to a KYB group, but now I am incapacitated and cannot physically attend in comfort anymore. I thought correspondence would be more suitable for me.
- It is too difficult to get to a group from my aged care facility.
- I travel a lot/ do house-sitting, so can’t always get to my group. I would like more consistency in my Bible study, so to do correspondence as I move around will help to achieve that consistency.
- I was looking for a good Bible study and my mother/mother-in-law/grandmother told me about KYB, so I would like to try that.
- I have just moved to a new area and was chatting with another lady, and she mentioned KYB by correspondence to me. It sounded perfect for my situation at present.
